Summary
The Manager, Value Stream demonstrates proficiency in matrix leadership and responsibility for end-to-end oversight of a product value stream (Novartis or client). Incumbent supports the management of stakeholders during the routine manufacturing of internal (Novartis) or external (client) cell therapy products at the Morris Plains site. This is an onsite position at our Morris Plains site.
About the Role
- Ensures a customer centric mindset throughout the organization and drives implementation of customer focused solutions
- Gathers & reports the appropriate KPIs to inform key stakeholders on the process performance, ensures understanding of measured KPIs
- Work with the respective key stakeholders to ensure routine manufacturing and testing of products in accordance with approved Manufacturing Supply Agreement & Quality Agreement.
- Ensure timely information / document sharing with the client to ensure no delays in release of the product to the client
- Single point of contact for Morris Plains for value stream
- Defines needs and priorities of value stream and works with other value streams to prioritize and negotiate trade-offs
- Drives two-way communication between key site functions and Global Novartis stakeholders or CMO Client stakeholders
- Represents value stream products and clients at capacity planning and S&OP forums
- Accountable for lifecycle management of products in value stream including clinical production, commercialization, growth and sunset.
- Works with site leaders to set site strategy for products in value stream and responds quickly to client needs, making client the priority

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in production operations, ideally in a Biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, CMO, or chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience leading or working in a matrix organization
- Experience and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma strongly desirable
- Technical expertise combined with a savvy working relationship with internal and external customers
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $112,800 and $169,200 Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
