Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position is located in San Diego, CA and requires the selected candidate to report on site a minimum of 2 days a week.
In this role you will execute system engineering tasking across the entire lifecycle of a system including the development and integration of new capabilities on the MQ-4C Triton platform. This role will entail execution of cradle-to-grave integration and leadership across all Systems Engineering disciplines including requirements development, use case development, capability (hardware and software) development, integration planning, lab integration, test planning, formal test, verification and fielded test and mission support.
The position will require on-site work a minimum of 2 days per week based on program needs.
Essential Functions:
• Lead cross-IPT development of system level requirements and use cases
• Implement requirements verification methodology and traceability
• Lead development of interface definitions and integration plans
• Conduct formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems
• Evaluate integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found
• Perform requirements verification and selloff
• Provide support to flight test and fielded assets
This requisition may be filled at either the Level 2 or Level 3 grade based on requirements listed below.
Basic Qualifications:

Systems Engineer (Level 2) - Bachelors of Science degree (STEM) in technical field and at least 2 years of experience, or Masters of Science degree (STEM) in technical field and 0 years of experience.
* Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3) - Bachelors of Science degree (STEM) in technical field and at least 5 years of experience, or Masters of Science degree (STEM) in technical field and 3 years of experience, or PhD in STEM field and 1 years of experience
* Experience with Systems Engineering V-Model of development including leadership of Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events
* An active DoD Secret Clearance for consideration
* Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
* Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, and requirements verification
* Experience in ICD development and integration
Preferred Qualifications:

Programming Skills in C/C++/Python/VBA
* Familiarity with Triton architecture and interface control documentation
* Experience supporting field operations including maintenance and mission support
* Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Design processes
* Experience with root cause investigations, fielded issue investigation, and operational missions.
* Working knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
* Familiarity with TeamCenter PLC and JIRA/Confluence
* Ability to develop task specific test tools
* Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
* Experience with formal requirement verification and decomposition
* Experience with test procedure development for verification of requirements
* Active TS/SCI clearance

Salary Range: $89,400 - $134,200
Salary Range 2: $110,300 - $165,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
