Senior Principal Military Trainer - Protection SME Scenario Writer - to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, in Kansas. The MCTP trains Brigade, Division, and Corps Commanders and their staffs during simulation-driven command post Warfighter Exercises (WFX) in support of Large-Scale Combat Operations and across Multi-Domain Operations.

Protection SME Scenario Writer:
The Protection warfighting function is the related tasks and systems that preserve the force so the commander can apply maximum combat power to accomplish the mission (ADP 3-0). The Protection SME provides support to scenario development of Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) for Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) to train Brigade, Division and Corps Commanders and their staffs with expertise integrating Protection capabilities into operations and identifies the tasks of protection. The Protection SME will serve as a Protection warfighting function representative from the Scenario Enterprise. During large-scale ground combat operations, commanders and staffs deliberately plan and integrate protection capabilities to protect the force, preserve combat power, reduce risk, mitigate identified vulnerabilities, and act on opportunity. This is accomplished through the coordinated efforts of Military Police, Engineers, Air Defense Artillery, CBRN, etc. The SME works within the Scenario Enterprise, through scenarios developed for the exercise to assist Training Audience units achieve their training goals; participate in all planning conferences and scripting working groups. Supports exercises with 24-hour support that includes storyline injects and the capability to adjust MSELs ensuring proper realistic injects.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the contractor point of contact between the Scenario Enterprise and the MCTP Protection warfighting function Observer, Coach, Trainers (OC/Ts).
* Provide Miliary Police and Law Enforcement scenario scripting support including Rule of Law scenario products of humanistic operations within towns and communities that supports asymmetric aspects of WFXs.
* Provide summaries of law enforcement questioning of detained personnel.
* Create law enforcement reports that add to intelligence collected during Key Leader Engagements, detainee questioning, and interaction with local police.
* Execute Enemy Prisoner of War (EPW) operations within the simulation. Assists with the identification and replication of local national police for scenario development.
* Be prepared to provide targeting scenario products in the areas of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and IED networks to assist in the replication of comprehensive targeting of insurgent networks and facilitation of operations.
* Coordinate with other Protection enablers to ensure lower echelon Protection warfighting function MSEL injects are properly written to support training objectives and realistic exercise "background noise".
* Monitors and evaluates operations with the intent to provide data to support observations of performance as it relates to training objectives.
* Must have an understanding of the overall scenario and unit's training objectives, with a good understanding of Army Doctrine and real-world situation awareness.
Basic Qualifications:

One of the following:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional leadership experience
* Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience

* Ten years U.S. military service Commissioned Office within a Protection warfighting function related branch.
* Previous experience as a Military Police Officer, 31A.
* Knowledge and experience with EPW / Detainee operations.
* Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine.
* Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
* Must be able to travel as needed both CONUS and OCONUS (up to 25% of the time)
* Must have a current Active DoD Secret clearance
* Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous combat deployment experience, OIF, OEF, OND, etc. Battalion/Brigade or higher staff officer experience.
* US. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or MEL 4 equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE)
Salary Range: *$89,100 - $133,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
