Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sentinel Industrial Engineer / Principal Industrial Engineer. This position is in Ogden, UT or Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
Join the Manufacturing Engineering team for Sentinel and take part in engineering solutions to deploy and deliver a state-of-the-art weapon system to our customer. The Industrial Engineer will be tracking and analyzing the processes of the Engineering Development Lab for the program. This task includes generating staffing plans, establishing standard hours development, process improvements, staffing plans, build schedules, and cost/performance analysis.
Additional Job Responsibilities & skills required include:
• Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals
• Proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc)
• Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain
• Experience with project and manufacturing schedules
• Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands
• Part of the responsibility can include factory and facility layout
• Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)
• Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
• Work with functional team to understand scheduling requirements at implementation sites
• Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
• Possess strong leadership, organizational, planning and decision making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
• Industrial Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience or Master's degree with 0 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Principal Industrial Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 1 year of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Required for Both Levels:
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
• 2-5 years of experience in critical thinking and analysis of live manufacturing systems
• 2-5 years of experience in analyzing shop floor manufacturing processes and capabilities
• 2-5 years of engineering experience in an ISO 9001 compliant manufacturing/fabrication work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) discipline
• An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
• 2-5 years of 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00Salary Range 2: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
