Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager Electronics Engineering 2 (S02) for the Radio Frequency (RF) and Mixed-Signal (RFMS) Department located in Manhattan Beach, CA. RFMS is an organization of 130 plus engineers and technicians that develops RF, Antenna, and Mixed-Signal electronics/subsystems, Antenna hardware, RF processors, MMIC components, passive RF components, custom IC and A/D designs and CMOS SoCs for a variety of space and air programs. The Section Manager will lead in a functional capacity a section of 10 to 15 members and will be responsible for their staffing outlook and their career development. The Section Manager will also be responsible for leading/co-leading technical RF-design-related communities of practice.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Specific knowledge related to RF, Antenna or Mixed-Signal component and design, analysis techniques and tools, and test/verification methods as well as strong general RF knowledge.
* Prior demonstrated project leadership skills (does not have to be extensive, just responsible for more than only individual contributions).
* Good technical writing skills, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the retention of current talent in the department in order to satisfy program staffing demands and developing the careers of section members
* Managing Quarterly Connections, hold regular meetings, and keep section members informed of company developments (10 to 15 members)
* Actively work with section members on development activities
* Support the department in the development and execution of engagement-related activities
* Contribute to process and infrastructure improvements and enforcement (e.g. design methodology, simulation tools, development of best design practices, capital projects, design review preparation, etc).
* Lead a technical Community of Practice
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an accredited institution with 7 years of experience; 5 years with a Masters of Science
* Candidates must have previously demonstrated the ability to manage engineers and technicians in a process driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an accredited institution
* Familiarity with NG Space Systems technical & administrative processes
* Be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $156,500 - $234,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
