We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead the accounting function for our mission-driven, edtech, SaaS company. As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and tax.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
  • Support financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Optimize accounting systems and processes for scalability.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in SaaS or technology companies.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606) and subscription-based business models.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and scalable accounting practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience managing audits and tax compliance processes.

Compensation at NoRedInk is robust and includes a full range of benefits, unlimited PTO, monthly co-working stipends, an initial home-office set-up stipend, and generous equity. Our salary ranges are based on factors such as expectations as laid out in the job description, location-specific market data, internal parity, and the experience and skills of individual candidates. Therefore, the compensation range is $ $175,000 - $200,000 and accounts for a variety of locations and skills/experience.
