WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Sr. Transportation Systems Analyst, E-Commerce will be responsible for support of and integration of Nike Transportation Management Systems (TMS) specifically in the Last Mile transportation space.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will work closely with the Global Capabilities department and other cross-functional teams to ensure that we are staying fast, flexible, and are providing the best support for operations within the parcel transportation space.

This role will sit on site either at the Nike Distribution Center in Memphis, TN or Ontario, CA facility and represents Last Mile Transportation on cross-functional teams, supplying process flow mapping, data analysis, impact assessment, and presentations in support of projects and departmental goals.

Will be involved in developing, managing, and maintaining the communications cadences with our TMS partners. This role will also work with Last Mile E-Commerce Management to analyze performance data for driving key decisions around critical improvements, TMS vendor quality, and tracking support metrics. This role will also assist in facilitation and support of continuous improvement processes focused on making the operation more effective and flexible

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

This role will enable optimal communication, performance, and issue support for the systems which ensure the best carrier, service level, and service type is selected for our digital consumers.

This role will also perform regular research and analysis of key shipment data, including transit time, rating, and additional decision criteria associated with carrier choice and system logic. This role will support the on-time delivery and lead time metrics through data analysis and impact assessment activities within the parcel transportation space.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution/operationalization of all Digital projects and transportation initiatives with Digital DC's in partnership with Omnichannel Transportation.
  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for transportation operations at the DC to solve transportation management system issues.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of Holiday/Peak/non-Peak season operational plans with Digital DC's to enhance capacity needs and to ensure on-time performance
  • Proactively communicate opportunities to minimize constraints by improving issues and tracking TMS related systemic issues when they arise.
  • Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities to improve operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance for domestic freight movement (e.g. mode optimization, carrier selection)
  • Proactively identify outbound transportation cost savings opportunities (e.g. routing of split shipments, air to ground opportunities, accessorial spend review) and raise to appropriate transportation or cross-functional partner (e.g. DC, MPO)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Economics or related subject area
  • 5+ years of experience in direct support of transportation/Transportation operations in a Retail/E-Commerce supply chain environment
  • Proven experience interpreting carrier rates, contracts and tariffs and with experience in the use of distribution strategies such as cross-docking, retail pool and zone skipping/hub bypass
  • Project management experience with an understanding of project management tools and methodologies
  • Experience working with or around Transportation Management Systems like Centiro or Uber Freight.
  • Travel, 0-10%
  • Flexible availability required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years transportation systems and/or DC operation
  • 5+ years progressively responsible experience in supporting customer delivery operations and Direct-to-Consumer online delivery support
  • Experience leading for results in ambiguous environments
  • Experience managing relationships with carriers or vendors for performance. Experience with data blending tools such as Alteryx
  • Experience in using XML, SQL, Tableau, Box and Confluence in a business environment
  • Experience with EDI Integration with carriers
  • Experience working as a Financial Analyst or Transportation Analyst with a US retailer or major 3PL or carrier
  • Work related experience with operations and freight teams in key modes of outbound transportation such as small package, full truckload and LTL as well as experience in network design or transportation modeling using tools such as Uber freight
