WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
The Portfolio and PMO team are a critical function in the HR organization that oversees strategic and operational projects and manages the end-to-end delivery of programs across the company.
The Senior Manager of the PMO will be part of the Leadership team, reporting to the Director of Portfolio and PMO. The Senior Manager is both a player and coach, taking on a strategic role in the organization as well as having the opportunity to lead and consult on key initiatives.
The Senior Manager will manage a team of Program and Project Managers, focusing on capability building and upskilling across the organization.
The Senior Manager will partner with several different cross functional teams, including Center of Excellence (COEs), Strategy, Change Management, People Solutions and Leadership.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are searching for a Senior Manager, PMO to lead a team and support Nike HR's strategic programs. Collaborating with cross functional program & project teams, we operate as a central HR team, providing management and oversight to various HR programs across the globe. We develop plans and manage timelines, budgets and dependencies across various initiatives. We are looking for a servant leader with strong experience as a program or project manager and can lead capability building across the PMO and HR function. We need a passionate teammate who has a high tolerance for ambiguity, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to work well with and influence a large variety of personalities at all levels of business.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
- 7+ years of experience in program or portfolio management, corporate strategic planning, management consulting, operations or complex program management.
- Project/Program Management experience juggling multiple projects while maintaining keen attention to detail and executing project workbacks, timelines and budgets.
- Familiarity with the Agile/Scaled Agile development approach.
- 3+ years' people management experience preferred
- Capability to build and maintain cross-functional and cross-regional networks with internal and external resources, lead cross-functional team of leaders and peers, and navigate complex organizational structures to deliver business results.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative analysis and build models in partnership with functional partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, and deliver presentations to senior leadership and external leaders.
- Strong project management, process, and organizational skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities to achieve strategic objectives.
Preferred:
- Human Resources-related experience a plus
- Global implementation experience a plus
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
The first focus area for this role will be on program delivery. This is the management of the end-to-end life cycle of programs across the organization. You will create project plans, manage cross functional dependencies, manage financials and engage with stakeholders on various teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring strategic program objectives are being met and you will provide oversight across project level risks and issues. You will also provide consulting across the organization around PMO tools and best practices that should be consistently leveraged.
You will work in partnership with the Portfolio and PMO Director leading capability building within the Global and Regional PMO team as well as functional teams across the HR organization. This will entail developing new process and procedures, reviewing tool effectiveness and ensuring that the team is providing a high level of service to all stakeholders.
Lastly, People Management will be an important component of this role. This will entail regular employee check-ins, performance management, career development, resourcing and vendor management.
