WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Distribution Center (DC) Operations Manager to oversee a 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) partner and a transportation carrier at a Distribution Center in Tomisato city, Chiba Prefecture. This distribution center is a key warehouse where we cater to wholesalers, Nike Direct Stores and Digital consumers. The ideal candidate will have proven experiences in team management to cultivate a positive and productive workforce.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will have the responsibility of handling Inbound Receiving Goods, Outbound Shipment for Multi-channel, Wholesalers, Nike Direct Stores and Digital, as well as Outbound transportation for Non-Digital channels and Product Integrity/Quality Assurance. You will oversee 3PL partners to ensure smooth end-to-end operations with optimized processes and costs, maintaining high accuracy. Your team will set weekly, monthly, yearly, and long-term capacity targets aligned with the business team and work to develop them in conjunction with 3PL partners. Additionally, you will create the yearly budget to manage annual operations and oversee operational costs based on business requirements and budget constraints.

Data analysis to measure 3PL's performance will be crucial for improving operations and making informed decisions. Regular communication with the business team is also necessary as this role requires handling new ideas, services, and requirements from the business team on a weekly basis. Furthermore, you will be responsible for reporting DC status to stakeholders in Global and Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) headquarters and acquiring best practices. If the DC needs to enhance the system and process, you will also be required to negotiate with Nike Global or APLA team.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will report directly to the Japan Logistics Director. You will collaborate closely with the Marketplace Operation team, DSM team, Nike Direct Store team, Digital Consumer Services, Merchandising, and Finance team, as well as 3PL partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, or Transportation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, including meeting facilitation and making presentations in a matrix organization.
  • High self-engagement and a desire to contribute to Nike's business.
  • Strong leadership experience in leading a workforce of more than 400. Experience in leading a team of more than 10 people as a direct report is preferred.
  • Experience in budget management is preferred.
  • Analytical skills for operational capacity planning at a Distribution center.
  • Ability to re-engineer business processes and drive cross-functional projects.
