WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will report directly into the Director Retail Marketing Japan. The selected candidate will lead Nike Direct In-line retail brand strategy, delivering Nike-only retail experiences and services co-working closely with Visual Merchandising & the Styling team to drive brand strength, fuel consumer demand and build our long-term connection with consumers.

The Lead, Retail Brand Professional will partner with our Japan cross-functional partners across Retail Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Nike Direct Stores HQ in Japan, Demand and Supply Management and Operations teams, and the Asia-Pacific Latin America geography to build more effective and efficient ways to encourage and connect with athletes. Your key external partners are outside agencies, suppliers, and vendors.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a person who will deliver inspiration and innovation to make athletes
dreams a reality. A person who is dreamer, doer, editor and tastemaker. A person who brings skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game. A person who is strategic thinker and idea generator with excellent attention to detail for brand and stores.

  • Bachelor's degree or anything equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in brand management, retail or digital marketing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese).
  • Strong interest or background in sport, youth culture, sneakers, fashion and streetwear.
  • Project management experience, Analytical skills to gather business, consumer insights and apply learnings.

Domestic travel required to visit agency partners and partner stores once per season. International travel might also occur a couple of times per year, depending on the business situation as well.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will work on building plans and delivering execution in excellence for "marketing of the store" and "marketing in stores" for seasonal and non-seasonal stories.

  • Programming seasonal direction for Nike Direct In-line stores each season, 8-10 times per year and build strategic plan and execution for new store openings
  • Work alongside Nike Direct inline stores and Value stores to execute cross-channel projects and seasonal stories.
  • Lead seasonal and non-seasonal marketing plan development, briefing and providing direction for implementing execution across Japan. This includes the development of in-store signage for always-on products/collections, promotions and sale events based on our brand playbook.
  • Manage annual marketing budget for Nike In-line stores
  • Success will be measured based on increase in our brand strength, consumer engagement, membership and Nike Direct In-line business growth.
