WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a Lead Merchant, Global Men's Nike Sportswear (NSW) Core Footwear, you will report directly to the Merchandising Director of Men's NSW Footwear. Within the direct team, you will own the franchises, line plan and journeys sitting under NSW Core ($100 MSRP and below). It is imperative that you foster strong relationships with your merchandising and cross-functional teammates to seek integration and alignment across everything we do.

With regularity, you will be balancing your interactions with Product creation while simultaneously covering the business needs of the Global Marketplace and Geo Merchandising teams. Demand and Supply planning also are valuable partners for you in bringing the business science to life.

NSW Core Footwear brings a lot of high-profile products to market throughout the year. As a result, building and maintaining a positive relationship with each Consumer Field of Play (CFOP) GM, Global Product Leads, Brand, Demand Planning and Geo Teams will be critical.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an optimistic, curious, style-oriented, analytic, trend-savvy Merchant, ideally with retail, MPU and/or Geo experience that has a deep understanding of the sportswear consumer, competition and the marketplace's ever-changing dynamics.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training


  • 5+ years of experience in Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying or integrated retail related roles.


  • Consumer-centric mindset and strong merchandising acumen.


  • Deep knowledge of the sneaker culture.


  • Take initiative, proficient information seeking skills, and a drive for results.


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to various cross-functional partners.


  • Excellent attention to detail.


  • Ability to influence, empower, lead and negotiate across various functions.


  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and seasons.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Keynote, Word and Excel.


  • Ability to travel (internationally) up to 10% of the time.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Lead Merchant, Global Men's NSW Core Footwear, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities as part of the Global Team that brings the CFOP Strategy, Product Line Plan and Consumer Relevant Assortments to life.

You will closely work with a cross-functionally and collaborative team (Product, Design, Brand, Apparel and Geos) to build and manage global 3-year line plans, product journeys and seasonal strategies to help the Footwear Core Offering gain market share and take a leadership position on each segment worldwide.

Here some key accountabilities:

  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver long-term footwear strategies, line and pricing architecture, and franchises journeys for Men's NSW Core Footwear.


  • Create seasonal merchandising strategies, leading with Nike sport style innovation and heritage, driving alignment on key business drivers, and support both global and hyper-local moments.


  • Analyze and obsess the performance and productivity across the board. Align cross gender and cross functionally on action plans to ensure progress toward growth strategies and targets.


  • Be the voice of the geographies into the line plan and product creation process through harmonized insights, growth opportunities and market capacity.


  • In partnership with Product and Design, co-create profitable and productive seasonal line plans that serve the consumer across the global marketplace.


  • Prepare for and own key seasonal meetings based on Consumer Code.
