We are looking for a Creative Concept Design Lead to join our Concept Design team in Nike Global Design, Men's Basketball & Kobe. Concept Design is the leading edge of defining the future of Nike, bridging the worlds of emerging innovation, athlete insights, product design, and brand storytelling to develop the ideas that will define the brand. Concept Design is the creative function that ideates, illustrates, and shepherds Nike's key initiatives to athletes around the globe. Along with the Creative Concept Director, the Creative Concept Design Lead drives this process for Nike Men's Basketball and Kobe. Candidates for this role must be collaborative, imaginative, and tactical, as they will turn creative strategy and big ideas into visual art direction and storytelling to influence the Nike organization!

Concept Design Leads are as excellent in their craft as they are collaborative teammates, focused on both creating concepts and building the materials and experiences to bring them to life, alongside their cross-functional teammates. They are experienced creatives and can work across mediums including art direction, moving image, graphic identity and spatial design. They have a passion for creativity and are committed to staying on top of current and future trends in design, creative culture and technology!

As a strategic and creative leader, you have a passion to adopt a concept strategy into a brand identity, visual storytelling, and world-building that activates the Nike organization around a concept. You are truly a multi-faceted creative who loves both the blue sky thinking and crafting all the materials that will bring that thinking to life, from creative to graphic design, styling and marketing storytelling. You must be a strong collaborator, able to integrate insights from different fields, and an imaginative thinker capable of shaping the future of sport and culture.

What you will work on

As a Lead Concept Designer, your mission is to build Nike worlds for Men's Basketball and Kobe's most important initiatives. You will work across the Creative Concept team, product designers, consumer insights, merchandising and brand teams to turn opportunities and ideas into unique visual identities and illustrate how those ideas can connect with athletes around the globe.

Your responsibilities will include leading brainstorming sessions, overseeing photoshoots, working with agency partners, presenting ideas to senior leadership, and managing creative execution from concept to completion. In this role, you will use your experience in creative direction, art direction, and storytelling to elevate Nike's global brand identity and influence the next generation of athletes and consumers.

Who you will work with

The Creative Concept Design Lead, Basketball and Kobe reports to the Creative Concept Director, Basketball and Kobe. In the day-to-day the Creative Concept Design Lead collaborates with their Concept Design counterparts, Men's Basketball and Kobe product design, Product Merchandising, Brand Design, and Brand Marketing counterparts.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably within product, marketing, brand, or agency environments.
  • A passion for the athlete, sport, and culture, with a deep understanding of global trends in these areas.
  • Expertise across multiple design disciplines, including art direction, motion, graphic, and spatial design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, Keynote, and familiarity with AI and 3D design tools.
  • Solid portfolio of relevant work, displaying a passion for inspirational storytelling, photo art direction, brand identity, and world building.
  • Strong verbal and visual communication skills, experienced in presenting and defending creative work to senior leadership.
  • The ability to lead multiple projects efficiently, managing time and resources to deliver high-quality creative output.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive mindset, with a track record of collaboration across teams and managing external creative partners.
  • A high degree of curiosity, with a keen understanding of design culture, youth culture, and emerging trends in creative technology.
