WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

As a member of the Global Store Development Team, you will be working directly with internal construction professionals, designers, and facilities teams. Outside of our direct partners, cross functional partners range from Real Estate and Geography Store Construction, Facilities, Retail Design, Consumer & Concepts, Loss Prevention, IT/tech and Store Operations teams. You will also work closely with external architects, general contractors, and external consultant teams managers to ensure project planning is on schedule and on budget.

The Nike Direct Global Stores team seeks a Construction Manager who will lead a broader team of external contributors from design through concept development to global toolkit creation and implementation by translating innovative designs and retail concepts into reality!

We are seeking an individual contributor with demonstrated technical knowledge of retail store development, construction, budget & scope management, shown success implementing and succeeding against a portfolio of projects and enjoys collaborating to problem solve to Win as a Team. The ideal candidate brings a successful track record of working closely with internal and external cross functional teams, external consultants, contractors and vendors.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or combination of relevant education, experience, and training (Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture)
  • Professional accreditation(s) - ex. LEED AP, PMP, etc.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability in construction related project management
  • Experience in retail construction, fluency with architectural drawings, key trade works, construction terminology and contract terms and types
  • Experience with varied retail stores and store rollouts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Plangrid/Procore or similar, Smartsheet and/or other construction project management budget and scheduling platforms
  • Supervisory experience specifically leading external consultant project teams directly
  • Ability to take ownership of large bodies of work and lead complex teams
  • Project management / program management experience required
  • Scope and Contract management including bidding and negotiating with contractors and vendors
  • Use of industry project management tools
  • Ability to build a strategic department plan, schedule and budget
  • Ability to problem solve, identify ownership and track progress against organizational goals
  • A passion for Nike and sport

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

In this role, you will work on development of future Store Concepts and Evolution of existing store concepts. Specifically, we seek a candidate who will be responsible for:

  • Constructability Review - Lead Nike Construction and Design teams to proactively identify and resolve overall constructability, design efficiencies and faithfulness to best-in-class processes.
  • Value Engineering - Lead Nike Construction and Design teams in working through exhaustive value engineering exercises to ensure consistency and scalability of retail concepts globally.
  • Estimation/Cost Modeling - Maintain existing and create new cost models for retail concepts to support geography Real Estate, Construction, and Design partners in budgeting for projects; both new build and retrofit.
  • Toolkit Support - Work with Global Design and Concept teams to ensure delivery of toolkit elements; including, but not limited to Cost Models, Prototypical Drawings, BIM Models, and Specifications.
  • Budget Management - Ownership of budgets with consultants and vendors to deliver Global Construction Projects.
  • Design Process and Preconstruction Management - collaborate with internal Nike design team, internal partners and external consultants to execute required deliverables, schedule parameters and track resolution of outstanding issues for the full life-cycle as it relates to the development of stores.
  • Nike Stores Innovation Lab Builds - Assume the lead position on any new store builds in the Nike Stores Innovation Lab. Work closely with the NSiL team and external contractors to ensure projects are completed in faithfulness to future design direction and retail reality of means and methods. Maintain the spirit of "test and learn"
  • Contract Management and Documentation - lead teams in the contract scope development, review and award management
  • Cross functional collaboration to ensure project deliverables are aligned across internal teams and stakeholders.
