The Global Social Media team fuels the connection between the Nike Running and consumers who live, breathe, and love running. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Global Social Channel Lead to own and evolve the strategy for @nikerunning, leading how Nike shows up across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and beyond. You are a digital leader with a deep understanding of running culture, cultural trends, and the evolving role of social platforms in every athlete's journey.
You are the ultimate running junkie-someone who knows the language of runners and understands how to create digital content that both educates and inspires. You thrive on creating seamless, platform-right social strategies that authentically connect with athletes wherever they are-whether they're logging miles, crushing an NRC session, or focusing on recovery.
In this role, you'll bring an athlete-first mindset, turning running insights into engaging social strategies that build Nike's leadership in the industry. You'll blend creativity with performance, inspiring teams to deliver world-class content that resonates and drives real impact.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Every day, you will partner across teams to deliver strategies and content that bring the Nike Running to life on social. You'll shape platform-specific approaches that reflect the needs of athletes while driving cultural relevance and engagement. Key responsibilities include:
Lead Channel Strategy: Develop and oversee the @nikerunning channel vision, creating a cohesive, athlete-focused experience that reflects the energy and evolution of the modern fitness athlete.
Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with Global Brand Marketing, Digital Commerce, Creative, and Geo teams to align channel priorities and ensure flawless execution.
Integrate Social Commerce: Drive platform capabilities that connect products to athletes' fitness goals seamlessly.
Own Editorial Calendars: Manage content programming and oversee briefs for seasonal campaigns, ensuring platform-right, consumer-first storytelling.
Elevate Insights: Partner with analytics teams to identify trends, track performance, and continuously optimize content strategies.
Activate Communities: Oversee community management strategies that foster authentic engagement and align with Nike's brand voice.
Innovate and Test: Stay ahead of emerging social platforms, tools, and cultural trends, identifying opportunities to innovate and set benchmarks for fitness-focused digital storytelling.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You'll report to the Social Director of Running and work alongside social specialists, creative teams, and agency partners. This role also requires regular collaboration with Digital Marketing, Merchandising, Consumer Services, and key stakeholders across Global and Geo teams to align execution with business goals.
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of social media strategy experience within running, sport or wellness industries.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Deep functional expertise across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging spaces).
Proven ability to deliver large-scale social activations with measurable impact.
A strong understanding of running culture, trends, and communities.
Experience managing high-profile talent, such as athletes, influencers, and creators.
Comfort navigating an ever-changing social landscape while providing clear POVs on platform innovation.
Expertise in tools like Sprinklr, Airtable, Asana, and Figma.
Exceptional storytelling, project management, and communication skills.
