Job Summary:
NetApp is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sustainability and GHG Inventory Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the technical aspects of sustainability initiatives and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory management. You will play a key role in driving NetApp's sustainability strategy by ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting of GHG emissions. The ideal candidate will have an advanced technical background, deep expertise in GHG protocols, excellent project management skills, and a passion for sustainability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Document current GHG inventory management process, including data sources, data collection methods, and stakeholders involved
- Develop target process for GHG inventory management, defining the best practices for smooth calculation and reporting in the future
- Create and maintain GHG Inventory Management Plan, incorporating the documented processes and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
- Serve as tool administrator for Envizi, NetApp's current GHG calculations tool, assessing usage and determining if additional functionality can improve NetApp's calculations and reporting
- Lead the identification of potential replacement tool for GHG calculations and reporting, considering NetApp's requirements, constraints, and expected return on investment. Drive the implementation of any new tool and migration of data, with support from the vendor
- Lead audit of Scope 3 categories, determining which categories should be reported and providing data-driven justifications for exclusions, as well as lead verification efforts with a third-party verification vendor to ensure the accuracy and credibility of NetApp's sustainability data and reporting
- Coordinate technical responses for annual questionnaires, such as CDP, including emissions, energy, and supply chain sections
- Collaborate with other stakeholders as a subject matter expert to respond to customer questionnaires, addressing specific questions related to scopes and emission numbers
- Accountable for the results of GHG data for regulatory ESG reports (e.g. SEC/CA/CSRD disclosures), and other relevant sustainability-related reports
- Stay up to date with emerging sustainability reporting frameworks, regulations, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related technical field
- 12+ years of proven experience in managing qualitative sustainability programs, including experience in GHG inventory in a corporate setting
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and GHG accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol e.g., ISO 14064,)
- Expert understating of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., ISSB, CDP, SBTI) and experience in preparing sustainability reports
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and present complex data and its implications
- Proficiency in using sustainability software tools and data management systems
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Self-
- motivated and proactive, possessing the ability to adapt and navigate to positive outcomes and with a strong passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship
- Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED, CSR-P, CC-P Credential, or Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential) are a plus

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $158K - $235K. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
