Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer - Performance with expertise in troubleshooting performance-related issues in enterprise storage environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of ONTAP architecture, performance tuning, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. This role is part of our Level 2 Support team, responsible for diagnosing, analysing, and resolving performance-related incidents while providing excellent customer service to enterprise clients.
Job Requirements
- experience in technical support, systems administration or related roles.
- In-depth knowledge of storage protocols such as FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB, and how they relate to system performance.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting performance issues in enterprise storage systems.
- Strong understanding of NetApp ONTAP architecture, including cluster mode, data fabric, and NFS/CIFS protocols.
- Familiarity with performance analysis tools like Perfstat, Performance Manager, and AutoSupport.
- Ability to read and analyze logs, traces, and performance metrics to diagnose issues.
- Basic networking knowledge to assist with performance issues caused by network congestion or misconfiguration.
- NetApp Certified Support Engineer (NCSE) or other relevant storage certifications are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance-related troubleshooting and RCA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
