Overview

Manages projects limited in scope to LOB products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications. Serves as secondary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives and provides assistance to staff. Partners with the business to develop and transition plans, including ongoing success measures, to sustain the change. Accountable for initiatives limited in scope to department products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications. Accountable for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Program Manager with leading team of project managers
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior project managers and team members
  • Acts as a secondary contact to senior managers for critical change initiatives
  • Provides leadership and oversight for project management initiatives within the organization
  • Manages projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Defines, develops, and executes project plans, including scope definition, expectations, activities, cost estimates, and schedules
  • Works with senior management, business groups, and stakeholders to determine and understand business requirements
  • Oversees multiple projects and ensures that they are successfully executed within timelines and budgets
  • Develops and implements project management methodologies, best practices, and governance standards
  • Directs and leads Project Teams by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and training
  • Manages project budgets, including risk assessments and the impact of changes on project plans
  • Identifies and minimizes project risks or constraints that could impact project deliverables
  • Facilitates project team and stakeholder meetings for the resolution of project issues
  • Sets, manages, and communicates client and stakeholder expectations for projects
  • Ensures documentation, reporting, and compliance standards are maintained for all projects
  • Manages project dependencies and ensures cross-functional collaboration between departments
  • Monitors and controls risks to ensure project success and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develops and socializes potential risk mitigation strategies across projects
  • Creates vendor Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and ensures procurement and competition processes are properly followed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of team management experience
  • Experience leading and/or managing complex projects with cross-functional teams
  • Extensive knowledge of project lifecycles, methodologies, and business requirements analysis
  • Strong leadership, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with limited supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Proven ability to prioritize work efforts and consistently meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, IT, or a related field

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services, technology, or business operations projects
  • Knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with testing, deployment, and implementation of business initiatives
  • Strong background in change management and transformation initiatives

This job posting is for the Overseas Military Banking Program (OMBP) operated by Navy Federal Credit Union. The position is located in San Antonio, Texas and will be supporting Navy Federal's contract with the Department of Defense to operate OMBP
