Assistant Manager, Supply Operations & Logistics

Overview

To provide support to Supply Manager regarding activities of the branch overseeing daily operations and providing guidance to staff on work assignments. Lead and provide recommendations on projects and policies affecting supply operations. Serves as Pensacola campus POC and facility management coordinator for the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations to leadership on policy and procedures, resource management, workflow and priorities
  • Respond to internal Service inquiries or requests for assistance; troubleshoot and resolve issues; escalate to management as needed
  • Analyze and provide supply recommendations for the Annual Financial Plan (AFP): surveys and analyzes AFP survey needs and cost of general ledger budget items; audits day-to-day procurement requests affecting AFP expenditures
  • Coordinate and monitor the interdependent operations of Supply Operations to include Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, Plant Property, Storage, Traffic Services and Media Storage Sections
  • Serve as supply liaison to branches, coordinating supply operations and providing problem solving solutions as needed. Directs high level official requests for urgent or special delivery services and tasks to the appropriate supervisor for processing
  • Analyze and makes recommendations to the Manager concerning contract proposals, including but not limited to courier services and other services which affect all branch activities.
  • Monitor and provide recommendations to the Inventory Control staff concerning critical elements affecting the Oracle HCM system
  • Oversee the Plant Property accountability and disposal program including establishing policies and procedures and monitoring to ensure standards are met
  • Monitor Business Continuity plans for supply operations including establishing and updating staff and roles identified as essential for Navy Federal operations, updating disaster recovery policies and procedures, communicating changes or updates to supervisory staff, and analyzing current procedures and provide recommendations to leadership regarding branch recovery organization and procedures. Plan to be reviewed and updated monthly or as needed
  • Analyze productivity and cost data to recommend equipment changes/additions and supply sources
  • Serve as Pensacola campus POC and facility management coordinator
  • Receive Pensacola building and facility requests for assistance concerning problems or customer requested actions regarding building and facilities. Coordinate with employees to determine the nature and extent of the problem or request and coordinates with appropriate area to address and resolve
  • Coordinate inspections of infrastructure projects and distributes punch list items to be repaired, rebuilt or completed and tracks projects through completion.
  • Provide AFP recommendations for Pensacola campus facility projects
  • Oversee contractor staff including scheduling, coordination, inspections and acceptance of work
  • Coordinate with Manager, Facilities Management to develop and implement Pensacola campus facility management practices that protect and promote health, safety and quality of work life for employees
  • Serve as facilities liaison, regularly meeting with business unit management at the Pensacola campus
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in supply or logistics management including financial planning and budget execution
  • Experience with the design, development and maintenance of logistical systems
  • Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Effective analytical, planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including skill in directing, persuading, negotiating, interpreting complex procedures and regulations and advising
  • Advance skill in directing and leading others in the accomplishment of project goals or in supervising others

Desired Qualifications

  • A college degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience material and supply maintenance including trade practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal policies and procedures regarding the operations of the Supply Department

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Location: 5550 Heritage Oaks Drive Pensacola, FL 32526 (Full time on-site, Essential Personnel)
