Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. They prepare external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting Finance, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. Finance is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.

Responsibilities

As part of the Business Unit Controller function, you will support the Morgan Stanly at Work and Wealth Management Canada business units. This position will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and key metric reporting for Morgan Stanley at Work and Wealth Management Canada, collaborating with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead role in analyzing, forecasting, and presenting for Morgan Stanley at Work asset metrics.
  • Present financial and non-financial results and insights to senior business leaders to help inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain analyses to support financial and non-financial forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning.
  • Lead quarterly due diligence process, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and risk assessments to support internal and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and product growth.
  • Manage and provide mentorship for two to three direct reports.
  • Exercise leadership and effective management to motivate and develop staff.
  • Assist or lead key business initiatives, including new product support, acquisitions & divestitures, and data analysis.
  • Ad hoc analysis and support as required from time to time

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with focus on Accounting and/or Corporate Finance with 10+ years of work experience.
  • Results-oriented with capacity and desire to work at strategic level.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated individual, strong work ethic, positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong partnership skills and ability to interact across different support groups, including presenting to junior and senior levels of the Firm.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, Tableau, or other similar financial & data software programs.
  • Effective time management, ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple tasks.

Role will require in office attendance 3-5 days/week.
