The Portfolio Analytics group of MSFS focuses on providing solutions for risk and performance measurement, portfolio transparency reporting, Factor Analysis, derivatives valuation, and other bespoke analytics needs of Morgan Stanley's global hedge fund clientele.

The Portfolio Analytics team is currently seeking a Vice President based in Mumbai, India who is interested in applying skills in the business area concerning performance and risk attribution for hedge fund portfolios using in-house analytical tools. The candidate is expected to apply business knowledge, process, and people management skills to effectively manage a team of professionals engaged in delivering client solutions along with contributing in individual capacity to client's ask and projects. The role will include significant collaboration with teams across the globe, particularly in New York, Hong Kong, and London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 4-5 professionals performing analysis on Hedge Fund clients' portfolio
  • Provide guidance and supervision on day-to-day activities to ensure timely clients deliverables
  • Supervise discussion with IT colleagues in maintenance and improvement of various proprietary analytical tools
  • Guide the team in interactions with global team and clients on analytics offerings
  • Streamline existing processes by proactively engaging with relevant stakeholders thereby bringing operational efficiency
  • Active participation and contribution in building new analytical offerings

Desired skillset/qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance/Statistics with 10+ years of experience in financial services. Hedge funds experience along with CFA/FRM certification will be an added advantage
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Hands on experience in successfully managing teams
  • Strong understanding of equities, fixed income and derivatives products
  • Experience of coding language like Excel-VBA and/or R
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned task and drive it independently
  • Self-motivator with strong verbal and written communications skills

The role requires working in shift from 12 pm - 9 pm or 1pm - 10pm and following US Holiday calendar.

Coverage for Audit Jobs
• Monday to Friday from 12:00PM to 9:00PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters.
• Periodic evening calls with US and EMEA Internal Auditors and auditees.
