The Senior Investment Writer is responsible for writing content for print and digital mediums. This individual is primarily responsible fed or the creation of thought leadership content that supports a range of investment products and themes, including blogs, investment insights, white papers, infographics, video scripts, investment outlooks, product updates, email and social media. This individual works closely with investment management and channel marketing teams and is a skilled short-form and long-form investment writer. In-depth knowledge of fixed-income markets and investment products including leveraged credit, corporate and sovereign bonds and emerging markets debt, is preferred. He/she collaborates with various teams within overall Investment Content Team to deliver content in conjunction with marketing calendars.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Researches investment topics and themes within traditional fixed income asset classes.
- Follows market and economic trends and proactively communicates investment teams' views on timely investment topics as appropriate.
- Writes key editorial content, including blog posts, insights, white papers, social media posts, infographics video scripts, investment outlooks and asset-class and market updates.
- Customizes editorial content to meet the distinct needs of a range of financial intermediaries.
- Leads the editorial process, including idea generation, in-depth interviewing of knowledge experts and gathering and interpreting independent research.
- Oversees content until completion, including coordination of necessary compliance reviews.
- Edits content for delivery across a variety of mediums, including print, web and multimedia.
- Assumes additional editorial duties as requested or assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Finance, Economics or equivalent required.
- Minimum of ten years financial writing experience in investment management required.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- In-depth knowledge of fixed income and alternative investments.
- Ability to research complex topics and interview investment professionals.
- Ability to review current financial market conditions and/or portfolio data and extract ideas.
- Ability to communicate complex financial topics in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to think creatively, conceptually, and strategically.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting inflexible deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be $150,000 - $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
