Market Risk - Governance and Controls Analyst

Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

The role will reside within Firm Risk Management's Market Risk Department. The Market Risk Division ("MRD") is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all market risk exposures arising from EMEA business activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process.

The successful candidate will join the global MRD Governance and Controls team and will work on a number of change and cross-asset regulatory initiatives with a focus on regulatory compliance and governance covering Asia, EMEA and USA.

Primary Responsibilities
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the market risk framework (including policies and procedures)
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory disclosures and submissions
• Participate in regulatory self assessments and the review of new regulatory requirements
• Contribute to strategic market risk workstreams
• Develop ad-hoc presentations for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partners distributed in different regions and teams such as Risk Managers, Risk Analytics, Finance, etc.

Experience
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• Basic understanding of market risk concepts and an interest in Banking and Finance
• The ability to work independently in a self-directed way in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing objectives
• Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
