The candidate will be working as a Systems Programmer & Systems Performance / Systems Programming Engineer in a multi CEC, multi LPAR, multi SYSPLEX z-platform environment. This would include a strong working knowledge of z/OS internals, z/OS system software, IBM Utilities, JES, ISPF, JCL, SMF data collection and reporting, WLM, RMF, VSAM, VSAM/RLS.

Weekend work and on-call coverage is required.

What you'll bring to the role:
  • 3+ years of experience in a mainframe environment
  • Knowledge of the following: IBM mainframe, Internal and External Coupling Facility, IBM DASD storage and Tape subsystems
  • Experience with real time trouble shooting performance issues in z/OS environment
  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively interface with external hardware and software vendors.
  • The ability to effectively interface with various levels of management and with business clients

Desired:
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Workload Manager (WLM), RMF Monitor III, RMF Post Processor, RMF Performance Data Portal, SCRT & related reporting
  • Excellent testing and reporting skills
  • Experience with design of tests to validate software functionality, robustness, performance, as well as environmental health and stability
  • Experience with SAS, REXX
  • Experience with CA-Sysview
  • Experience with SyncSort
  • Familiarity with SPLUNK Reporting, Ironstream, DVM
  • Familiarity with IBM Tivoli Decision Support (TDS)/IzPCA
  • Familiarity with IBM SCRT (IBM Country Wide Multiplex Pricing (CMP), Tailored Fit Pricing (TFP))
  • Familiarity with use of MXG, CA-MICS
  • Experience with tuning an environment with Natural/Adabas, COBOL

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $88,000 and $134,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Salary range for the position: $88,000 - $134,500 per Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
