Fixed Income Secured Lending, Subscription Finance - Analyst/Associate

Morgan Stanley FID Secured Lending group ("FSL") is seeking an Analyst / Associate to be part of its Capital Call Subscription Finance ("CCSF") platform based in New York.

FSL sits within Morgan Stanley's Fixed Income Division and provides asset-backed financing facilities to asset originators, aggregators and financial sponsors. FSL currently manages a portfolio backed by a diverse range of assets including fund capital commitments, private credit loans, consumer loans, residential and commercial mortgages, student loans, and commercial real estate loans across the US, Europe, and APAC regions.

The CCSF team is looking for highly motivated candidates to focus on Morgan Stanley's growing Subscription Finance lending platform, which provides credit facilities to funds across a wide array of asset classes and banks some of the Firm's most prolific clients globally. Previous experience in fund finance is not required for the role but is preferred.

Daily responsibilities would include:
• Preparation and review of credit applications/presentations for both new transactions as well as renewals/amendments to existing facilities
• Support the structuring and negotiation of term sheets, loan agreements, fee letters, and other legal documents from origination to execution
• Conduct due diligence on a Fund's governing agreements, investors, and financial performance
• Interface with multiple constituents within FSL and Morgan Stanley, more broadly, including the Asset Management team, Syndication team, Credit Risk Management team, Operations team, and various client coverage teams to deliver a first-class product internally and externally
• Prepare ad hoc analysis as needed by senior management

Qualifications

Candidates must have the following background & skills:
• Degree from competitive undergraduate/graduate program
• For analysts, preferred if you've had at least one internship / full-time position in a finance-related field
• For associates, preferred if you've had work experience of 2+ years within CCSF
• Proficiency in MS Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $125,000 per year for Analyst, and between $150,000 and $200,000 per year for Associate, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
