Department Profile:
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Team Profile:
The WM Operations FP&A team oversees comprehensive expense management for its partner organization as a part of the wider Infrastructure FP&A department. The team also performs a wide variety of analyses and forecasting exercises as required for Operations, Finance, and the Wealth business unit.

What you'll be doing:
- Produce and deliver monthly and quarterly Financial Control and Management reports for various Wealth Management Operations sub-departments.
- Analyze and understand the drivers of variances between monthly and year-to-date actuals versus budget and forecasts.
- Provide advice to internal clients on the implications of spend profile, business trends, issues and firm strategy.
- Understand the implications of and actively participate in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Maintain and further develop of existing reporting portfolio, provide support to senior management team on an ad-hoc basis.
- Manage the hiring pipeline to ensure adherence to budget and firm commitments.
- Manage the new and existing vendor engagement process with an eye towards ensuring expense discipline.
- Liaise with multiple departments (Operations, Finance, HR, Corporate Services) to resolve issues.
- Analyze and automate reporting and planning processes and identify and implement improvements.
- Work collaboratively with global counterparts, present organization-specific financial analysis to outside stakeholders.
- Develop and mentor junior resources on the team.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in a Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology-related field is preferred with 10+ years of experience in financial services Banking Operations, Finance, Accounting or Project management.
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Understanding of differing expense types and their variability, seasonality, and influenceability.
- A proactive nature with the determination to see tasks through from beginning to end.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; general ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with local and global teams.
- Well-developed analytical capabilities, including ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy level environment & Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- The ability to mentor junior talent.
