Cyber Strategic Intelligence - Associate - Cyber Security Operations

We're seeking someone to join our Cyber Data Risk and Resilience team as a Cyber Strategic Intelligence Analyst in Cyber to orchestrate the Firm's operational threat intelligence communications, provide critical insights into emerging cyber threats with a focus on regional and global threats impacting the financial sector, and report to senior and executive management, coordinating with internal technical specialists to provide a comprehensive picture of the Firm's response to an ongoing cyber risk or threat. You will monitor and analyze cyber threat landscapes, focusing on threat and geopolitical trends. You will generate intelligence reports and provide strategic recommendations to support business continuity and mitigate risks. You will also play a critical role in promoting our cybersecurity strategy by correlating intelligence data with broader organizational security goals, working closely with internal teams, and external partners to ensure we stay ahead of the latest threats and regulations.

What you'll do in the role:

- Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives. Interact regularly with team members and occasionally leadership on a range of topics.

- Threat Monitoring and Briefing: Conduct cyber threat analysis relevant to the financial services industry, specifically conducting research on existing and emerging cyber threat issues that may impact Morgan Stanley. This also include briefing senior stakeholders and the wider internal cyber community on the current threat landscape.

- Geopolitical Insights: Monitor and analyze how geopolitical and regulatory trends impact cyber risks in APAC regions.

- Metrics and Strategic Reporting: Produce tailored reports for internal teams, track and manage internal cyber metrics and collate relevant information on triage/remediation to summarize and offer actionable insights for leadership consumption, leveraging defined frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain and the equivalent.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure intelligence supports incident response and business decisions. This involves day-to-day operational delivery of threat intelligence for internal and external stakeholders, threat hunting, vulnerability management and malware analysis.

- Tooling Development: Support the advancement and enhancement of analytical products and methodologies to assist mitigation practices at a tactical and operational level.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Ability to process information, translate into plans and present summaries to stakeholders. Experienced understanding of business line and discipline.

-At least 4 years' relevant experience in cyber intelligence roles within the financial sector, focusing on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats specific to the financial sector, such as phishing and fraud schemes, business email compromise, and ransomware.

- Hands-on experience using OSINT tools and techniques to gather and analyze intelligence from open sources (e.g., forums, blogs, social media, dark web) relevant to the financial industry, with experience in structured intelligence methodologies to assess cyber threats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex intelligence data into strategic recommendations for mitigating cyber risk for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of adversarial cyber actors, including their TTPs and the adversary lifecycle.
- Experience in quantifying the impact of cyber incidents on the financial sector.
- Experience liaising with a variety of technical and business stakeholders for effective collaboration and information sharing.
