We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Client Tax Operations Department. Role is responsible for ensuring that all tax documentation, withholding, reporting, deposits, and filings obligations of the Firm are met.

Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying, and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships, and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures, and markets.

What you will do in the role

The Client Tax Operations Vice President will be managing the Tax Documentation and Tax Withholding teams, which are tax utilities supporting retail, institutional and stock plan U.S. obligations. The VP will be responsible for strategy, procedures, controls, and overall operational performance; ensuring all regulatory obligations are completed on time and in accordance with IRS/State regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight/supervision of the people, process, and technology for the Client Documentation and Withholding teams
  • Perform regulatory exercises as necessary (i.e, B-Notice, C-Notice, Change in Circumstance, Document Expiration)
  • Effectively liaise with other key stakeholders on strategy, planning, and effective integration of new business/entities
  • Participate in review and implementation of new IRS rules and regulations
  • Work with Global Tax Fleet, and other functional teams to deliver required documentation and withholding strategic platform
  • Manage a team of ~27 resources with plans for expansion
  • Implement a cross training plan to ensure alignment of the team to the overall Client Tax Ops strategic goal of a tax utility capable of supporting all business units with a fungible group of resources

What you will bring to the Role
  • Career experience of 12+ years & Minimum of 5 years of management experience within an Operations function. Series 99 &Tax Documentation Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong leadership qualities (e.g., sound judgement, decision making, delegation, coaching and ability to manage a diverse team and projects)
  • Adaptable to dynamic work environments and priorities
  • Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams
  • Strong analytical skills with a creative and flexible approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of IRS Chapter 3 (NRA), 4 (FATCA), 61 (Domestic), and other tax regulations preferred
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience to perform this role.
