Position Description:

As a member of MSREI's Capital Markets team in the U.S., the individual's role will be integral to the capital markets activities of both MSREI's established closed-end value-add/opportunistic fund business and a newly formed, non-traded REIT. The successful candidate will be expected to source and execute commercial real estate financings of all types working closely with MSREI's Acquisition, Asset Management and Finance teams. The role is based in New York.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Execution of commercial real estate financings at property level, joint-venture level and portfolio level, including running marketed processes, negotiating term sheets and closing transactions
• Day-to day management of MSREI financing relationships including prospecting new relationships in growth areas
• Gather industry and financing provider data and create meaningful analysis to aid with strategic decisions
• Facilitate sharing of proprietary MSREI market data and color across entire North American Acquisition team
• Proactively assess opportunities for modifications and refinancings, prepare credit papers for such initiatives
• Provide regular, periodic risk reporting to various committees, boards and senior management
• Strategize with senior management to seek efficiencies in the operating model by collaborating with internal groups such as Acquisitions, Asset Management, Finance and Operations

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in structured products or commercial real estate debt origination / risk / credit / asset management
• Familiarity with an array of commercial real estate transaction structures (joint ventures, bridge/transitional loans, construction loans, securitization)
• Fluency with documentation, legal and regulatory issues related to CRE finance
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Strong technical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Ability to devise and implement new processes and procedures

Wage Transparency Statement

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
