Profile Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as (Associate) in Morgan Stanley Counterparty Credit Risk Data Strategy team within the Credit Risk department. Data Strategy is responsible for the implementation of data standards, governance, and monitoring of data Credit Risk consumes to evidence compliance with Risk Data Policy and the BCBS 239 Principles. Data Strategy identifies data areas causing challenges to the running of the Counterparty Credit Risk processes and proposes long term solutions to improve Credit Risk Data Management. The team is responsible for implementing the Global Risk Data Policy and its related procedures.

What you'll do in the role:
Primary job responsibilities expected to include:
• Implement global data policy and BCBS239 requirements across credit risk.
• Drive execution of complex strategic risk data compliance projects autonomously
• Engage with various stakeholders'- technology, data divisional officer's, etc. within and outside risk teams to identify and document risk data ownership, authority, sourcing, controls, and quality metrics.
• Catalogue key Data Elements across credit risk and ensure they are Fit for purpose as per global regulatory requirements.
• Support FRM's BCBS239 compliance evaluation quarterly through an evidence based FRM-wide assessment program.
• Senior management reporting and presentations
What you'll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, Economics, Science or related disciplines
• 3 years+ of work experience in the financial services industry particularly in risk management, finance, operation, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of risk management concepts, financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data and credit exposure metrics
• Experience in Risk Data Management and/or Data Governance
• Ability to prioritize projects, meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hands-on experience on SQL and Python writing, must possess expertise in understanding and analyzing complex technical queries.
• Good working knowledge in MS office (Excel and PowerPoint), Collibra, etc.
• FRM and CFA would be preferred.
