Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC seeks an Assistant Vice President, Business Analysis in Jersey City, NJ
Develop comprehensive analytical and reporting solutions to support Wealth Management Field & Advisor Strategy, including but not limited to visual and self-service analytics using Tableau, executive presentations, and ad-hoc quantitative insights using SQL/Python. Partner with technology teams to build data ingestion pipelines in Dataiku, Snowflake, and Hadoop to develop complex data flows and analytical models to support downstream insights, measurement, and KPIs for enabling business decision making. Use knowledge of wealth management client, products, and services data to conduct test-control studies, identify success drivers of various products and services, and to support development of predictive models for client-product propensity with data science teams. Leverage subject matter expertise to synthesize complex data into meaningful and concise leadership presentations, informing performance of key business metrics, driving business strategy, as well as opportunities for process improvements related to client engagement and product sales and adoption. Develop center of excellence and best practices for Wealth Management Field & Advisor Strategy reporting and analytics and mentor junior team members by providing subject matter expertise and foster a diverse and inclusive culture within Morgan Stanley. Regularly collaborate with data governance partners to maintain a consistent level of risk mitigation and data validation for operational dataflows and reporting.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $132,000 and $132,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master's in Information Technology & Management, Business Analytics, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, Risk Consultant, Credit Consultant, Associate, or related. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Partnering with cross-functional teams to identify business problems; Requirements gathering to develop analytical solutions; Programming using SQL, Python, VBA, and SAS; SQL Server and SAS to curate complex datasets and models for strategic and operational analytics enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization; ETL processes for automating and integrating data from multiple sources into a centralized data repository; Creating visual analytics using Tableau and PowerBI; Synthesizing analysis for leadership presentations; Designing and implementing performance measurement and benchmarking frameworks to evaluate the efficacy of existing and new product launches supporting strategic initiatives; Partnering with data science, engineering, and modeling teams to develop predictive models and support comprehensive statistical studies, driving advanced analytics and business insights; Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; Conducting data analysis using SAS; Building scalable reports and dashboards using Tableau; and Tableau to interpret data and generate business insights. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Dataiku, Snowflake, and Hadoop to curate complex datasets and models to support strategic and operational analytics and perform test-control studies for enabling data- driven decision-making across the organization.
