What you'll do in the role:
Primary responsibilities
This is a multi-faceted role responsible for coverage of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) transactions, under the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) business. The principal responsibilities include managing a portfolio of existing loans and monitoring ongoing portfolio management activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible to:
• Monitor and manage existing portfolio of CRE transactions including periodic reporting of risk profiles, trends, industry developments and concentrations.
• In conjunction with the Sr. Credit Officer, prepare Annual Reviews, monitor the ongoing financial condition and performance of the Borrower and the collateral.
• Perform a thorough credit analysis on borrowers' financial health, risk rating and collateral analysis.
• Presentation to Credit Senior management, the Firm's Credit Committee, and other internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain frequent communication with Sr. Credit Officers regarding the financial condition of Borrower(s) and compliance with reporting requirements. Keep current on major developments and changes in financial condition and identification of risks.
• Identify early warning signals in deteriorating credits. Perform regular financial, credit and lien checks. Check for covenant compliance. Make timely recommendations regarding changes in credit classification and risk rating. Advice Sr. Credit Officers on remedial action plans as needed.
• Work with Sr. Credit Officers to maintain and update files in an orderly and timely fashion.
Manage all requests within stated turn times unless justified as an exception. Manage expectations through active communication with Sr. Credit Officers.
• Must escalate material individual borrower or portfolio observations promptly to Sr. Credit Officers.
• Manage escalations, and show a strong inclination towards problem solving and innovation
What you'll bring to the role:
Skill set
• Experience in commercial real estate lending and credit underwriting
• Have a good knowledge of transaction structures, documentation, and the lending process
• Detail orientated and highly motivated.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarize findings, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong relationship management and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple deliverables with limited supervision.
• Good collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications/Criterion
• Master's Degree in Finance/ MBA preferrable. CFA/FRM added advantage.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• 1-5 years of experience in commercial real estate lending and/or credit risk management
• Experience at a global organization handling multiple priorities and different time zones.
