Firm Risk Management CA Industrial Training

We're seeking CA trainee's to join our Firm Risk Management Team for the CA Industrial Training Program. This internship program designed as an opportunity to learn more about the important role that Firm Risk Management plays within the Firm. This structured program is designed to give interns insight into this division and an opportunity to develop and master the analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills needed to develop an exciting and rewarding career. The training will continue throughout the course of the program with structured learning sessions run by senior executives.

In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyse and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:
The role will work closely with teams at all levels of the organization within and outside of FRM, including frequent communication with various stakeholders in US/Europe/Asia Pacific.

Depending on business needs, the selected individual will get an opportunity to work in any of the below risk strips but not limited to.

Operational Risk refers to the risk of financial or other loss, or potential damage to a firm's reputation, resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from external events. Operational Risk Department (ORD) within FRM is responsible for supporting various components of the Operational Risk Framework including Risk Assessment, Monitoring, Analytics, Reporting, Quality Assurance, Governance, Process Validation etc. They also provide change management support and develop automation solutions for analytics and reporting of operational risk information to management.
Credit Risk Management Department (CRM) within FRM protects the firm from exposure to losses resulting from defaults by our lending and trading counterparties. The team is responsible for ensuring that Credit Risk data is of high quality and supports sound risk management decisions and meets regulatory expectations. In addition, the team is responsible for credit limit monitoring and reporting, providing change management support, and developing tools to assist in automation and representation of credit risk information to management.

Country Risk sets and manages risk appetite for the Firm at country level. Country Risk also assigns Internal Credit Ratings to sovereign and sovereign related clients; establishes and manages credit risk limits for sovereigns in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; and monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and senior management. The team also interacts with business units to ensure that country and sovereign risk assessments are factored into business decisions.

Risk Data & Strategy (RD&S) team within FRM is responsible for the development and promotion of data standards, governance, and monitoring of the Risk Data Domains to evidence compliance with Risk Data Policy and the BCBS 239 Principles. RD&S provides strategic partnership across Firm Risk to enhance Risk Data management. The team is responsible for creating and maintaining the Global Risk Data Policy, and for reviewing proposed country, legal entity or risk domain specific Risk Data policies or procedures to ensure congruency and alignment across FRM.

Risk Analysis and Reporting is a critical component of FRM, responsible for performing detailed risk analysis, creating comprehensive risk reporting and designing and implementing strategic reporting solutions.

What you'll bring to the role:
• Pursuing CA
• Interest in financial services industry particularly in risk management, finance, or operation
• Good understanding of risk management concepts and financial products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize; comfortable when working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to details
• Good working knowledge in Power Point and Excel
• Nice to have skills: VBA, SQL querying, Python, Power BI, Tableau
