Department Profile

This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Placement & Duration

This 14-week internship supports the Technology and Business Management team within the Infrastructure Finance organization. The team is responsible for the operations of Technology including financial oversight, technology strategy execution, communications, and coordination.

Responsibilities

The main focus areas during the internship include Technology cost governance and process improvement and analysis to support key business practices and decision making. The incumbent will support the organization with reporting and analytics of Technology spends and finding cost saving opportunities.

Additional responsibilities include understanding business goals as well as respective data and process engineering required for sustainable governance solutions and ad hoc analysis, driving reporting and process improvements, and support of central COO responsibilities for the global organization.

Skills
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management or related fields or pursuing a MBA degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Large data sets with GAAP financial and qualitative attributes
  • Driven self-starter and creative thinker with a client-focused mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate with others
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • An interest or familiarity with Financial Markets and Products - an asset
  • Previous work experience of Audit or Accounting - an asset
  • Proficiency in Power BI - an asset
