We are hiring a Project Accountant to help us build the future of veterinary care. This is not your traditional accounting role in that you will partner closely with the Real Estate & Development team to improve and scale our procure-to-pay process as our business continues to grow. You will work cross-functionally to identify improvements to our system and processes as well as support the Accounting & Finance team to ensure efficient month-end close procedures and timely financial reporting.
We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter that is willing to roll up their sleeves to assist in building out our accounting operations and driving continuous improvements in a high-growth environment. The right candidate will have proficient knowledge of US GAAP, excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, while continuously improving and driving forward cross-functional work.

This is a high-growth role with a unique opportunity to grow into a future leader within the Finance organization. This role is located in Culver City, CA with flexible opportunities to work in office and from home based on requirements of the day to day work.
What you’ll be working on:
- Execute the month end close process for fixed assets, lease accounting, and related account reconciliations to ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses
- Review new lease contracts and accurately record journal entries in accordance with ASC 842
- Properly account for facilities related expenses including common area maintenance, property taxes, business taxes, etc.
- Assist in the implementation of a fixed asset management software to properly track company-owned assets, accurately record depreciation, assess impairment, etc.
- Manage accounts payable and accounting for the procure-to-pay cycle
- Review credit card transactions to ensure compliance with Company policies
- Assist with the implementation of new systems
- Communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences including both clinical and office team members
- Supervise off-shore resources to ensure accurate and timely data entry of transactions

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA or progress towards passing the exams, preferred
- Strong analytical skills and impeccable attention to detail
- Collaborative go-getter, willing to roll-up sleeves and be hands-on
- Enthusiasm for thinking outside the box to tackle complex problems
- Operate with high emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills
- Experience with Netsuite or other major financial systems preferred

The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location.
