We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead the setup and operations of a robotics lab, working closely with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), facilities, power, and FAIR researchers. You will be responsible for hiring and managing contract workers, identifying data collection plans, procuring equipment, and planning and executing data collection for researchers leading to successful Robotics research.
Technical Program Manager, AI Research Robotics Responsibilities:
- Lab Setup and Operations: Collaborate with EHS, facilities, and power teams to design and set up a safe and efficient robotics lab. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Hiring and Management of Contract Workers: Recruit and hire contract workers with experience in robotics and data collection. Manage the performance and development of contract workers.
- Data Collection Planning: Work with FAIR researchers to identify data collection plans and requirements. Develop and implement data collection protocols and procedures.
- Equipment Procurement: Identify and procure necessary equipment for data collection, including robots, sensors, and software. Ensure that all equipment is properly installed, calibrated, and maintained.
- Data Collection Execution: Plan and execute data collection activities, including robot operation, data acquisition, and data processing. Troubleshoot issues and optimize data collection processes as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with FAIR researchers, contract workers, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
- Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.
- Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
- Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
- Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
- Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
- Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
- M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience with FAIR researchers and projects.
- Knowledge of EHS regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with equipment procurement and management.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile).

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
