Our team is taking the lead in this space with a mission to enable fully automated and data-driven creative/ad format optimization through GenAI. With both near and longterm strategic investments, the team has successfully launched many GenAI driven Ad creative products and a pipeline of tech innovations to unlock significant future revenue. The team's scope encompasses various aspects of the End-to-End Ad creative generation process. We build and leverage state-of-the-art GenAI technology to help advertisers diversify and optimize creatives, reducing creative fatigue, increasing ads asset liquidity, and enhancing appeal and personalization. The brand new experience empowered by GenAI will make it easy for advertisers to create ads with basic input or instructions such as prompts and reference images, fundamentally transforming the landscape of ads business.

Research Engineer, Computer Vision (PhD) Responsibilities:
  • Work with researchers and engineers to develop input architectures that combine computer vision and language.
  • Design and prototype interactive experiences and evaluate them through user research.
  • Design and prototype data collection systems to accelerate machine learning.
  • Collaborate and work across teams to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline (hardware, software, data collection, machine learning, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Experience in developing interactive solutions for computer vision, natural language processing, or computer graphics.
  • Experience working with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with sequence modeling, domain adaptation or representation disentanglement.
  • Experience designing data collection protocols and quality control.
  • Experience with C++, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Technical knowledge across topics including machine learning, optimization, Bayesian statistics and state estimation.
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research experience in end-to-end image generative modeling.
  • Experience transferring technology from research in computer vision, machine perception, or machine learning into a shipping product.
  • Experience with joint hardware-software development and associated rapid prototyping.
  • Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, or similar.
  • Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
