Meta is seeking a highly skilled risk and compliance professional, from a Trust and Safety, risk management or regulatory compliance background, to drive the regulatory relationship and engagement with European integrity compliance regulators including Coimisiún na Meán as part of the EU and UK Integrity Compliance Office (ICO). You will be an experienced governance, risk, and compliance expert who is passionate about regulatory engagement and has in depth understanding of the global compliance content regulatory landscape. You will help us navigate this complex environment and drive innovative solutions to meet our business needs. At Meta, our Integrity efforts encompass a broad range of company-wide initiatives aimed at addressing complex issues such as misinformation, election security, account compromise, and high-risk harms including safety, youth protection, fraud prevention, hate speech mitigation, and content moderation standards. You will demonstrate a proven track record of leading regulatory engagements and driving execution in close partnership with cross-functional teams, including Product/Engineering, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), Policy, and Legal.

Regulatory Engagement Lead, EU/UK Integrity Compliance Office Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of the EU/UK Integrity Office regulatory engagement strategy.
  • Managing engagement with Information Commissioner's Office (ICO's) regulatory stakeholders (Irish Media Regulator (CnaM), European Commission, Office of Communications (OFCOM)) and helping to shape ICO's regulatory engagement framework.
  • Execute effective regulatory engagement strategy ensuring that all engagements are efficiently and effectively managed in a logical, transparent, and well-coordinated manner through standardized practices, processes, and tools.
  • Support proactive company communication strategies and applicable legal obligations with regulators and prepare materials and other submissions provided to regulators.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for flawless execution of engagement and projects.
  • Lead the project team to synthesize regulatory feedback and key thematic findings to the leadership team.
  • Build relationships and interface closely with a diverse set of Compliance, Legal, Risk, Integrity and Operations partners, subject matter experts, internal control partners and/or first line risk management professionals.
  • Establish effective working relationships and processes to efficiently partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across relevant cross-functional teams to ensure an integrated approach to regulatory engagement.
  • Help drive the design/continuous iteration of the Governance and Reporting Framework for the EU/UK Integrity Compliance Office.
  • Partner closely with Legal as well as first and second line partners to ensure demonstrable compliance and oversight by the EU/UK Integrity Compliance Office.
  • Work as part of the Compliance team to stay abreast of regulatory changes and trends within the industry.
  • Develop, maintain, and review policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Design, review and adapt record-keeping practices to demonstrate effective oversight and governance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) within a highly regulated industry, with a proven track record of success in regulatory-facing roles that demand strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and strategic collaboration
  • Operational experience and understanding of content-related regulations and regulatory landscape
  • Demonstrable experience liaising with internal and external audiences such as regulators and auditors
  • Understanding of global regulatory landscapes and emerging integrity risks, with expertise in areas such as misinformation and disinformation, hate speech, global elections, fraud and scams, youth protection, online safety, high-risk harms, and innovative technologies like Generative AI (GenAI).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert understanding of second line of defence regulatory processes, frameworks, policies and risk & control environments
  • Proven track record of successfully operating and delivering results in highly complex, dynamic, environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, demonstrating expertise in navigating matrixed organizational structures and adapting to evolving circumstances.
  • Experience within a technology, regulatory, or consulting sector, or a combination thereof
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
  • Certified compliance or risk qualification (LCI, CRCM, CRMP CDPO etc.)
  • Exceptional business-level communication skills, distill complex concepts into clear and concise language, and effectively present them to external regulators and other key stakeholders through compelling presentations that drive understanding and action.
