Meta seeks an experienced transactional lawyer to serve as lead counsel supporting sales and marketing initiatives for Reality Labs products. You will work with sales, marketing, product counsel, partnerships and business development teams to structure, draft, and negotiate contracts a variety of sales and marketing agreements (e.g., distribution, reseller, referral, co-marketing, sponsorship, endorsement, etc.). You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to these agreements as well as sales and marketing activities more generally.
Lead Counsel - Sales and Marketing Transactions (Reality Labs) Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of sales and marketing agreements, such as distribution, reseller, referral, co-marketing, sponsorship, endorsement, and influencer agreements, with customers, retailers, distributors, partners, vendors, and other third parties.
- Advise and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams on legal issues, risks, and best practices related to sales and marketing activities, such as pricing, promotions, advertising, compliance, data protection, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
- Develop and update standard templates, policies, and procedures for sales and marketing agreements, and provide training and education to the sales and marketing teams on their use and implementation.
- Collaborate with other legal team members on matters that may impact sales and marketing agreements and activities.
- Monitor and keep abreast of relevant laws, regulations, industry trends, and best practices affecting sales and marketing, and provide timely and proactive legal advice and updates to the sales and marketing teams.
- Prioritize and manage simultaneous legal matters under tight timelines.
- Respond to rapid changes in business direction and flex to support new product initiatives and technologies without much precedent.
- Work extended hours when necessary to complete projects in a timely fashion.
- Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- 5+ years of experience working on sales and marketing agreements
- Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating sales and marketing agreements
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
- Experience working under your own initiative and reacting quickly to make decisions that have both legal and business impact, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, thinking creatively and being solution-oriented
- Data analytics or privacy experience
- Experience drafting agreements related to hardware devices

$167,000/year to $233,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
