The Edge Production Infra & Connectivity team supports all connectivity & capacity for the Meta product family, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and all future AI endeavors.We are a global team of experienced network professionals who are tasked with driving scalable capacity management solutions, budget efficiencies & synergies across the various network edge layers to sustain organic edge growth in support of the Family of Apps and future Metaverse endeavors. As we both scale our services and look to build the edge of tomorrow, building an efficient network is at the core of what we do. As a capacity manager you'll be using data to make informed decisions on a number of initiatives including monitoring and managing capacity, utilization and reliability of the edge footprint (PoP's/Cache's), oversight of regional health, production vs. forecast discrepancies, engagement with cross functional partners in short and long term growth plans, and finally, driving resource efficiency on the edge.

Edge Capacity Manager Responsibilities:
  • Partner cross functionally to ensure strategies within each geography align with a common global strategy for the Edge network
  • Scope, develop and implement capacity strategies and plans that increase impact ensuring Meta's products have sufficient network capacity while maintaining operational and financial discipline
  • Build pipelines and perform analysis across data sources to understand forecasted traffic, drive cross functional agreement, and create a global network strategy to meet the needs of the business
  • Lead partnerships across various functional teams and organizations to find optimal solutions to drive improvements in infrastructure capacity planning, delivery and management
  • Drive enhancements to existing data models in order to improve architectural standards and design principles that affect network capacity decisions
  • Create Product Requirements Documents enabling partner teams to develop reliable, long term data sets and systems to inform edge growth needs
  • Clearly present findings related to capacity challenges and constraints both to cross functional partners and organization leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing large scale networks or network projects
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience of trying new approaches, balancing risk and impact for capacity management
  • In depth knowledge of network infrastructure, interconnection, BGP, and traffic routing
  • Understanding of internet infrastructure fundamentals related to peering, content delivery networks and caching
  • Capable of taking data from various data sets (ex: SQL & Hive) and analyze the data to proactively work on issues that may not be clearly defined
