We closely partner with Connectivity Service Providers (CSPs) globally to improve the state of the art technologies to ensure Meta's Family of Apps (Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, Messenger, and others) and Reality Labs products perform well over Mobile and Fixed (Wi-Fi) networks as they're used by billions of people daily. The Edge Network team is responsible for egress capacity for all products, including Facebook Newsfeed, Live, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and more.The Edge & Telco Strategy Manager will be connecting the dots between technical and operational domains to develop solutions that create a positive outcome for the Edge Network, while strengthening external partnerships. In this role you will have a unique opportunity to work with CSP networks around the globe to enable the growth and maintain quality of experience for the entire portfolio of products including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Quest, Messenger and more. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Meta, and enjoy working with CSPs to provide comprehensive solutions for managing traffic.The Edge & Telco Strategy Manager will lead and support the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide the Meta production network with best-in-class cost, optimal flexibility, and unmatched delivery and availability performance.

Edge & Telco Strategy Manager Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis and detailed planning support to infrastructure program globally, data analytics and product teams enabling in-depth understanding of partner ISP
  • Lead planning efforts with ISP for interconnection and caching projects including building long term capacity plans, and develop strategic solutions to enable our infrastructure and interconnection with CSPs.
  • Use your influence to steer peers in the industry towards technical solutions that enhance Meta's product and experiences that rely on CSPs Networks.
  • Stay on top of developments in the CSP domain, including technology R&D, use cases, and hardware/software evolution, and use these to inform the organization's strategic direction.
  • Competitive Benchmarking: Identify key industry benchmarks. Partner to identify evaluation criterion and provide relevant data back to internal Meta team.
  • Willing to travel about 25% of the time and work across various time zones.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Business related field or equivalent, plus at least 12 years of relevant experience in Network Infrastructure
  • At least 12 years of Partner Management experience in Network related products and services.
  • 10+ years of experience with internet infrastructure fundamentals specifically IP, IP peering and caching solution.
  • Track record of managing complex programs with multiple internal and external dependencies through the entire lifecycle, from inception to completion.
  • Product knowledge of Content Delivery Networks, Backbone Networks and IP Services, their operation and associated performance and cost models.
  • Great understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies, and can identify new opportunities for Network Infra and Meta to leverage new technologies to drive innovation and growth.
  • Develop Edge strategies and roadmaps that align with Network Infrastructure's overall business objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with access, backhaul, or core networking technologies such as IP/MPLS networks, optical networking, cellular 2G/3G/4G/5G, etc.
  • Understanding mobile telecom infrastructure system architecture, network design principles, and designing or deploying telecom networks.
