The Africa Middle East and Turkey (AMET) Public Policy team is looking for an AI (Artificial Intelligence) Policy Manager to serve as AMET Public Policy's point of contact on the region's overall AI policy strategy, ensuring cohesiveness, maximum regional impact and alignment with Meta's global approach to AI. A key part of this work will include oversight of our approach to government adoption across AMET, including the design of a pipeline framework to educate government stakeholders on the value of AI. This person will serve as a liaison between AMET Public Policy and central product and policy teams, offering insights that can inform the company's perspective on our region and/or global approach to AI.

  • Ensure that regional policy and functions have visibility on AI product updates/ roadmaps and are included in red-teaming opportunities when they arise
  • Work in tandem with Instagram, Threads, Facebook + WhatsApp/Messaging Policy leads to ensure a seamless, well connected strategy that considers the incorporation of AI on Meta's Family of Apps
  • Serve as AMET Policy's team expert on AI, creating opportunities for internal education on AI developments and its implications on the region/ company
  • Work with cross-functional partners and external partners to design a pipeline for government stakeholders- going from basic education to AI/ Llama adoption
  • Manage the process of building a pipeline for government adoption projects from concept to completion and ensure internal support to maximize visibility and impact
  • Ensure AMET's alignment with the company's global AI Strategy - from design to implementation and report progress on this work to internal stakeholders
  • Work with AMET policy teams to identify, monitor and analyze AMET policy issues that could have an impact on our approach to AI to proactively provide feedback to cross functional partners, leadership and product teams.
  • Lead the go to market policy strategy for new AI product launches in the region, coordinating between AMET Policy and relevant cross-functional partners (communications, marketing, partnerships, etc)
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years professional experience, in policy, tech or similar field
  • Understanding of tech policy and its implications on AI
  • Experience in policy coordination across teams in a matrix organization
  • Experience leading cross functional teams and finding consensus.
  • Experience in briefing and advising teams on technical matters.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks under timelines, shifting priorities, and acting proactively under short deadlines and pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Product Policy
  • Knowledge and previous experience in the AMET region
  • Working knowledge of Arabic and/or French
