About the Team:
Medidata Solutions Consultants (pre-sales engineers) partner with Client Executives and Solution Sales Specialists to guide complex sales cycles across multiple partners within large global clients. Solution Consultants are the technical counterparts in driving account/opportunity strategies, analyses, discovery conversations, presentations, demonstration and sale of all Medidata services. You can be remote based in the domestic USA, and will report to the manager of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in assigned account planning and strategy for successful expansion and adoption of the Medidata Clinical CloudTM
- Conduct discovery sessions to define customer's critical business issues and position the value of the Medidata platform
- Guide and collaborate internally with Medidata System and Enterprise Architects in the preparation of standard or custom demo environments and architecture definition
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clinical teams (data managers, Risk managers, study managers, monitors) from a user to a C-level perspective
- Develop an understanding of customer technical infrastructure and business processes and become a "trusted advisor" to clients and value realization
- Bring technical strategy internally with sales team and externally align with customer executives on joint execution plans to ensure successful workshops/ proof of concepts/pilots and other sandbox evaluations
- Create technical/functional responses regarding Request for Information and Request for Proposals (RFI and RFP)
- Collaboration with the Medidata marketing and business development teams at industry conferences, product webinars and Executive workshops
- Collaboration with Medidata's Professional Services team to support transition of new account/opportunity details and ensure smooth implementations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in the Life Sciences, Engineering, Business or Computer Science preferred, other relevant education or equivalent years of experience
- Requires 5 years of experience in life sciences industry or medical/clinical operations or equivalent experience in other enterprise systems
- Knowledge of clinical trials processes (Clinical trial monitoring, data management, study start up, risk-based quality management) through a combination of industry experience or education
- Experience in pre-sales/sales engineering processes (Discovery, Demos, POCs, Value definition and modeling, RFP/RFI response)
- Experience SaaS/Cloud technology
- Experience communicating product benefits appropriate for each prospect
- Exposure to formal sales methodologies (Challenger, TAS, R.A.D.A.R)
- Can travel (up to 50%), including overnight
- Experience with clinical data management and clinical operations software (EDC, DCT technologies, Imaging, eTMF, CTMS and others)
- Experience with Medidata Rave platform
- Experience selling software/technology to medical device/pharma/CRO customers
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on many factors including function, level, candidate experience, and geographic location.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $96,750 - $129,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $102,000 - $136,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $95,250 - $127,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $87,000 - $116,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $95,250 - $127,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
