About the Team:
The Senior Systems Engineer / Analyst will help develop the holistic monitoring solution for our enterprise. This includes designing monitoring, alerting, and analysis of full stack logs and metrics
Responsibilities:
The Senior System Engineer / Analyst will automate deployment of monitoring solutions within our Production/Dev/Test environments.
- Help design and implement monitoring solutions for our client-facing products.
- You will develop statistical models of monitoring metrics and identifying applicable trends within the integrated SaaS platform hosted on public and private cloud
- Technical expertise in multiple automation and management platforms such as: Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Auto scaling technologies, Nagios (and variants), vROps, Sumologic, Solarwinds, Cloud Watch etc.
- Experience with .net, SQL server, Ruby and MySQL technology stack with exposure to AWS, VMware at the minimum
- Based on experience and industry knowledge, the Senior Systems Engineer helps maintain a cohesive technical strategy.
- Effectively analyze and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Develop clear and accurate documentation
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau or any other reporting tool a plus
Qualifications:

- Proficiency in Google Apps (Gmail, Office Apps) and Microsoft Office Suite

Your Education & Experience:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline required; Masters Degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years working experience in the IT industry
- Minimum 5 Years supporting large-scale, multi site environments
- Experienced working on cross-functional teams/projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and guide technical vision
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, executives, customers and junior staff
- Strong hands-on personality, results-oriented, pragmatic, high quality standards, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of Virtualization (VMware, ESX, vCOPS, AWS)• Working knowledge of Automation technologies: Chef, Ansible, Powershell, Perl, Python, etc.
- Monitoring and Management tools: Solarwinds, CloudWatch, Sumologic, Nagios,NewRelic, Dynatrace, etc..
- Strong expertise in operating systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Windows Server
The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
