The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Finance for Japan to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting Commercial Finance and business teams in Japan to develop and implement strategies that maximize growth and profitability.

You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, consumer products leaders, and commercial teams to drive business performance analysis, provide financial insights, and inform business decisions.

As the Senior Manager, Finance you will be responsible for:

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, consumer products leaders and commercial teams to develop strategies, provide business performance analysis, and drive smart business decisions.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative problem-solving, including the development of reporting and actionable insights.
• Manage and track financial data, ensuring accurate variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Oversee financial systems enhancements, interfaces, and issue resolution (e.g., BI, ISIS, Phoenix).
• Act as the main contact for ad hoc projects, financial queries, and problem resolution.
• Track and manage critical account data at both total and customer levels, including sales, costs, and inventory.
• Develop and leverage ROI tools to optimize trade spend budgets.
• Participate in monitoring and reporting of financial activities, including monthly actuals, forecasts, and plans.
• Preparing the Financials for Annual Operating Plans for the Leadership Team, APLT and any Head Quarter Presentations then providing guidance and reporting to each quarter close and check in.
• Lead financial strategy for the Japan commercial team, advising on business decisions and growth.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, aligning with regional and global finance strategies.
• Ensure adherence to Japan GAAP, US GAAP, and internal financial policies while managing risks and controls.
• Work with regional/global finance, marketing, sales, and operations teams to align financial strategies.
• Deliver financial performance reports and KPIs, offering insights to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Identify and implement best practices to improve financial reporting accuracy and process efficiency.

The experience we are seeking for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MACPA).
• CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in finance/accounting, with a focus on commercial finance, FP&A, or accounting in the consumer goods or retail industry.
• Proven experience in multinational companies, multi-location, and multi-product environments.
• Strong knowledge of Japan GAAP, US GAAP, and SOX compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, SAP) and financial systems (e.g., Workday).
• Experience managing distributor relationships is a plus.
• Fluent in English and business level Japanese (written and spoken).

• 月次実績、予測、計画のモニタリングおよびレポーティングへの参画
• APACリーダーシップチーム（APLT）、本社向けの年間事業計画の財務準備・報告、および四半期ごとの進捗確認
• 日本の営業チーム向けの財務戦略をリードし、ビジネスの成長をサポート
• 予算編成、予測、差異分析の監督、地域・グローバル財務戦略との整合性を確保
• Japan GAAP、US GAAP、および社内の財務ポリシーの遵守を確保し、リスク管理と統制を実施
• 地域・グローバルの財務、マーケティング、営業、オペレーションチームと連携し、財務戦略を調整
• 収益性と効率向上に貢献する財務パフォーマンスレポートおよび KPI の提供
• 財務報告の精度向上および業務プロセスの効率化に向けたベストプラクティスの特定・実施

求める経験・スキル

• 財務、会計、または関連分野の学士号（会計資格保持者（ACCA、CIMA、CPA、MACPA）優遇）
• CPA、CFA、MBA 保持者歓迎
• 財務・会計分野での 10 年以上の経験（特に商業財務、FP&A、または会計の分野）
• 消費財（FMCG）または小売業界での経験
• 多国籍企業での経験（多拠点・多製品環境での業務経験を含む）
• Japan GAAP、US GAAP、および SOX コンプライアンスの深い知識
