The Opportunity:
Mattel Game Studio is seeking an experienced Product Manager, LiveOps to take a key role in managing the Live Operations of an upcoming casual game. The Product Manager will be responsible for the strategy, planning, execution, analysis of the game to ensure we are delivering first-class player experiences while driving sustainable business growth. This position requires close collaboration with talented internal teams and external development partners to ensure all sides are aligned in executing a solid LiveOps strategy and plan.
The ideal candidate is passionate about mobile games, diving into data, problem solving and keeping up with the latest trends in the market.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive LiveOps content calendar focusing on maximizing engagement, retention and monetization while partnering with our developers
- Work cross-functionally across Production, Game Design, Engineering, Marketing to align on objectives and execute key beats
- Partner effectively with external development teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment on goals, and timely delivery of LiveOps content and features
- Keep a pulse on player sentiment and feedback related to live content (via app reviews, community channels, surveys). Use these insights to inform event design – for instance, tuning difficulty or adding fan-favorite content.
- Be KPI driven. Provide regular reports and updates on LiveOps performance to stakeholders. Summarize what each major event achieved versus goals and outline upcoming LiveOps plans.
- Partner with our Data Analyst to analyze performance metrics: player engagement, retention, revenue lift, conversion rates, etc. Derive insights and share learnings with the team, using data to continually optimize future live ops plans.
- Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests to optimize LiveOps content, features, and monetization tactics.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, competitive landscape, and emerging trends in mobile F2P LiveOps and casual games
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3-5+ years of experience in product management, live operations, or game production, specifically within the free-to-play (F2P) mobile games industry
- Deep understanding of F2P LiveOps mechanics and best practices – you know how events, sales, and promotions drive KPIs, and have a demonstrated track record executing them
- Proactive in identifying opportunities, tackling analysis, curious, driven to rapidly iterate and make improvements
- Proven experience planning, executing, and analyzing LiveOps events, features, or promotions
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret data (especially player behavior, engagement, and monetization metrics) and make data-informed decisions. Proficiency with Excel is required.
- Experience with A/B testing methodologies and analysis
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with both internal cross-functional teams and external partners/developers
- Passion for mobile games (especially casual genres) and creating engaging player experiences. Experience working with major IPs or entertainment brands is a strong plus
- Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
The annual base salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $115,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
