The North America Consumer Products team delivers strategic category plans and drives licensing partnerships across Mattel’s portfolio of brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, Thomas & Friends and UNO. We engage consumers by extending our iconic brands & franchises through consumer products.

The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking a motivated Associate Manager, Consumer Products to join our Consumer Products organization based in El Segundo, CA at our corporate headquarters. The Associate Manager, Consumer Products will support the growth of the Consumer Products business through new initiatives and strategic focus areas.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Serves as point of contact for assigned licensees/Categories: responsible for account management, line planning, approvals, and financials.
- Acts as liaison with category manager/licensees to get relevant contract details negotiated and confirmed. Inputs requests for new contracts, amendments or renewals in RightsLogic and manage workflow with legal and finance counterparts.
- Collects sell-in sheets and communicates status of retail placement and projections.
- Supports forecast cycle on quarterly basis by requesting and tracking forecast entry into RightsLogic and troubleshooting any upload issues for licensee with Finance. Analyzes forecast from licensees to understand change drivers, areas of opportunity and potential risk.
- Maintains and fosters relationships with licensees, business partners and other external and internal partners on a day-to-day basis
- Supports various cross-functional requests for collaboration with images and product information including creative, marketing, PR, retail development, etc.
- Enforces licensee compliance with agreements.
- Ensures licensee requests are prioritized, analyzed and, if appropriate, delivered upon (i.e., sell sheets, pitch decks, brand stats, etc.).
- Updates servers with materials for licensing teams to reference.
- Evaluates CP categories for white space opportunity and is able to do outreach and pitching in pursuit of new potential partnerships.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
- 3-5 yrs of experience in consumer products/licensing
- General understanding of licensing processes and procedures as well as laws and regulations.
- General knowledge of licensing and CP industry.
- General knowledge of Mattel brands and strategies.
- General understanding of the organizational structure and business objectives of licensees and other key business partners.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Effective analytical and research skills and ability to identify trends and understand financial forecasts.
- General planning skills.
Functional Knowledge
- General understanding of licensing processes and procedures as well as laws and regulations.
- General knowledge of licensing and CP industry.
- General knowledge of Mattel brands and strategies.
- General understanding of the organizational structure and business objectives of licensees and other key business partners.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Effective analytical and research skills and ability to identify trends, evaluate white space and understand financial forecasts.
- General planning skills.
- Effective presentation skills in both virtual and in-person settings, including proficiency in creating effective presentations.
- Ability to foster relationships in a highly matrixed organization.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $91,000 - $135,200.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
