Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. We take an agile approach to software development and practice continuous integration and delivery. The range of work that a team will encounter varies from front-end web development to writing server-side calculation code to database work. We prefer no rigid organizational structures; each team uses processes that work the best for its members and projects.
This position is based out of our Arlington, VA office, and will be working closely with our team in New York City, NY.
Role:
• Help to test and maintain cutting-edge algorithms and analytical techniques that can handle on-the-fly processing across different dimensions.
• Facilitate the development of a powerful suite of web applications and drive valuable improvements to the capabilities of our product.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business goals.
• Be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including designing, reviewing code, testing, deploying, and supporting applications.
• Verify best practices in software engineering are applied, ensuring clean, efficient, and maintainable code using object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and modern frameworks.
• Share knowledge with other engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both the development and production environments.
All About You:
• Previous experience as a QA Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, or Developer with hands-on experience leveraging QA tools and processes.
• Skilled in writing and executing manual, functional, performance, and analytic test plans.
• Experience in automated front-end testing with Selenium Cucumber for testing user interfaces.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting CI/CD with Jenkins.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solver with a focus on identifying creative edge cases and ensuring coverage is built to protect against them.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar), or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience:
• Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs using REST Assured
• Proficiency in load testing with JMeter
• Familiarity in unit testing with Jest and Junit
• Familiarity with React and Java for front-end and back-end development
• Familiarity with testing JDBC applications

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Arlington, Virginia: $106,000 - $169,000 USD
