This is a great opportunity to join the team behind Crypto Secure, a powerful risk assessment tool helping banks gain greater visibility of crypto spend, transaction volumes, and AML risk exposure.

As a Data Engineering Manager, you will drive the technical direction of our data platform, leading a small team of engineers while also being hands-on in developing data pipelines and infrastructure. You'll ensure the integrity, scalability, quality and performance of our data systems, all while mentoring your team and shaping best practices.

Role

Lead Technical Execution & Delivery
- Design, build, and optimise data pipelines and data infrastructure using Snowflake, Hadoop, Apache NiFi, Spark, Python, and other technologies.
- Break down business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Lead technical decisions, ensuring alignment with data architecture and performance best practices.
- Optimise processes for better data delivery, scalability, and reliability.
- Address and resolve technical roadblocks to maintain smooth execution.

Mentor & Guide the Team
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
- Conduct code reviews, ensuring high standards of data quality and maintainability.
- Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Collaborate Across Teams
- Work with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to align priorities and ensure clear, actionable data requirements.
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to stakeholder presentations.
- Resolve data-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Champion Data Engineering Excellence
- Promote best practices in data engineering, including data security, performance, and scalability.
- Advocate for clean, maintainable, and scalable data pipelines.
- Drive CI/CD and automation best practices for data pipeline efficiency.

All About You
---
Technical & Engineering Skills
- Extensive demonstrable experience in data engineering, with expertise in building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of Snowflake, Hadoop, Apache NiFi, Spark, Python, and other data technologies.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation.
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Leadership & Collaboration
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of data engineers.
- Strong communication skills-able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage expectations and align teams with shared data goals.
