Job Title: Director - Business Development - Retail & Commerce, South Asia
Location: Gurgaon
Purpose
This position will drive Mastercard business with a designated set of Merchants and Acquirers in a specified geography in India and in all of Nepal & Bhutan. Position reports to Vice President, Retail & Commerce, South Asia.

Primary focus would be on deepening and expanding Mastercard's relationships, preference, volume, share and revenue with Merchants & Acquirers in North & East India and Nepal & Bhutan.

Primary KPI's will include growth and penetration of electronic payments in the Merchant and Acquirer space, growth of Mastercard acquiring volumes, market share and acquirer revenue, increase in acceptance locations, deepening VAS penetration and growing Services revenue, signing and managing co- brand deals, expanding commercial/B2b volumes and pends, launching impactful consumer programs, amongst others.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with key acquirers and merchants ensure open dialogue, manage day to day business, identify opportunities and run programs to grow both Mastercard and customer volumes and revenue.
• Growth of reported and processed acquiring volumes, gross and net acquiring revenues and share of acquiring volumes from new sectors/verticals.
• Ensure strong C Suite connects
• Drive exponential growth in Value added services revenue.
• Initiate, design, coordinate and execute merchant funded offers and campaigns.
• Identify product synergies/sales opportunities that support relationship development and Mastercard revenue growth (i.e. Co-brand issuance, value add capabilities such as marketing, product, processing, Advisors etc.)
• In collaboration with issuing-side account managers and marketing, identify opportunities to jointly develop POS spend initiatives.

All about you:
• Significant experience in India in the merchant and/or acquiring space in business development- both strategy and execution.
• Proven commercial acumen and established consultative selling skills. Have a clear track record of business development and delivering quantitative growth outcomes at scale.
• Good connects in the Merchant ecosystem.
• Knowledge of electronic payments industry, trends, Merchant & Commerce landscape, acquirer economics and value chain; good awareness of digital payments and convergence trends/technologies in the retail payments business; experience in digital payments will be a strong plus.
• Strong team player, ability to collaborate with peers and proven ability to work in a matrix organization.
• Comfort with C Suite interface; strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
• Established track record achieving quantitative targets and building business relationships
• MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
