This is a critical leadership role responsible for leading Mastercard's business in Panama. The role reports to the Cluster Lead for Central America and forms part of the Senior Management Team for Latin America. The role is responsible for identifying business opportunities, driving and delivering revenue and profitability for the market and its customers, and delivering corporate governance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will create and deliver the Go to Market strategy for a broad base of diverse customers, set the cultural tone of the market by ensuring there is a highly engaged workforce with high standards of business ethics, and they will be responsible for developing and executing their respective market strategies, as well as representing Mastercard to government and regulatory bodies.

About the Role
• Accountable for the P&L and configuration of country sales, delivery and operations for Panama.
• Identifies business-building opportunities for cross-functional groups to drive profitable market share and revenue.
• Monitors regulatory framework and proactively approaches external stakeholders.
• Acts as Mastercard's ambassador, spokesperson and key contact for regulatory and government agencies.
• Proactively positions Mastercard as a trusted partner of government/other stakeholders.
• Oversees communications with Mastercard's customer banks, fintechs and the merchant community
• Positions Mastercard as a business partner, thought leader and trusted advisor with customers
• Develops relationships between Mastercard and the customer across all operational functions
• Identifies, coaches and develops top talent and pro-actively develops employees as organizational resource

All About You

Candidate should be educated to a minimum of bachelor's degree level, though MBA preferred and will typically have 10 or more experienced years within a related field. The candidate should have extensive sales, leadership and business development experience within financial services and should demonstrate an aptitude to work and influence across functional disciplines (marketing, operations, technology, risk etc.). Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Candidate should be willing to travel. This position is based in Panama.

• Experience in a management role with accountability for P&L sales, marketing, delivery and operations.
• Experience in managing complex and/or international customer accounts and relationships
• Experience developing relationships with government/regulatory agencies and influencing stakeholders to better position Mastercard in the market.
• Experience managing and leading cross functional teams in a multi-cultural environment and identifying and grooming talent, while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Ability to identify, build and maintain a strategic network of contacts within Mastercard, the customer organization and the industry.
• Innovative problem solver, that challenges the status quo.
• Strategic thinker that understands the ways in which industry dynamics and external environmental factors will influence future customer needs and solutions.
• Strong customer focus, going beyond what is required in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Market-leading communication and presentation skills
